With the NHL playoffs and the amazing run of our home team, Montreal Canadiens, the league is seeing a large number of requests, demands to cancel or move a game with as little notice as 12 hours. Unfortunately, even though we have done our best to accommodate, we can no longer continue to work this way. The league has lost money over the past two weeks already so this cannot continue. We have no problem moving a game day or a later start time but we need time to makes these changes. Arenas are not as flexible anymore with cancellations. We know the Canadiens schedule well ahead of time. So if you do not want to play on that day please give us a weeks notice. (We already know when game 6 and 7 will be played I assume. The end result is you may end up playing another day at a later time but you will at least get to play and watch your Canadiens game.) If you choose to cancel last minute or not show for the game we have no choice but to give you forfeit and have you cover all the costs of the officiating crew. As much as I hate to do I have no choice as the league cannot continue losing money.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
