DWHL Winter Season Info
Start – Mid September – Mid to late April
Weeknight or Sunday Only Registration (Mon-Thu Games or Sunday Only) - $9550.00 per team 24 games guaranteed (22 Reg Season and 2 Playoff). Teams can also opt for a 23 game package for $9250.00 per team or a 22 game package for $$8950.00
NOTE : Any team that makes a minimum $1000.00 deposit by August 5th will receive a $350.00 discount and your season total will be $9200.00. This offer is to speed up the start up process by knowing how many teams are confirmed.
Three (3) to Four (3) scheduled payments (to be determined) with all teams required to pay in full by January 10th,2025
Payments - All payments can be made by email transfer (dw@dwhl.ca) or by cash or cheque made payable to DWHL. Credit card payments are no longer accepted.
Deposit - $1000.00 required by August 5th, 2024 to acquire the discount above. All teams MUST make a deposit in order to play their first game.
Arenas – Pierrefonds Sportplexe, Westwood (Sundays) DDO, Gadbois, Lasalle, Lachine.
Times – Games are all 1 hour and 15-minute slots. 65 minutes of actual playing time. Periods are 24 min, 19 min and 19 min with 2 referees and a timekeeper. Our timeslots during the week range from 21:00 to 22:30 starts. Early starts are very limited and most games are at 10 pm or later. Sundays are between 4 pm and 10:30 pm.

For weeknight teams, Minimum of 2 days availability are required due to the large number of teams that will play in various divisions. Divisions are initially set up based on caliber and adjustments are made once or twice per season to balance. Note: In order to avoid scheduling conflicts, 3 days of availability is ideal.
There are limited places available for both weeknight (Mon-Thu) and Sunday only teams. It is critical you reserve and make your $1000.00 deposit asap .

All 4-team Divs (Playoff Details)
2 game semi-final series, 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3, followed by a 2 game final.
For 2 game semi finals, 1st game is full length and a tie is good, no shootout. The final and deciding game(s) will be a shortened game, 21, 18 and 18 min periods. If the point totals in the series is tied (i.e. both games ended in a tie or each team had a regulation win), there will be a 3 player shootout, if still tied after 3 players have shot, then the captain may choose any player, as often as he wishes until the tie is broken.
All 5 team Divs (Playoff Details)
Round robin where each team plays 2 games (1 vs 4, 1 vs 5, 2 vs 5, 2 vs 3, 3 vs 4)
The four (4) teams with the best RR records will advance to a one-game semi final, where the match ups will be determined by the final regular season standings. Note : The semi final will be a shortened game, 21, 18 and 18 min periods. If the game is tied after regulation, there will be a 3 player shootout, if still tied after 3 players have shot, then the captain may choose any player, as often as he wishes until the tie is broken.

Round robin where each team plays 2 games (1vs5, 1vs6, 2vs6, 2vs4, 3vs5, 3v 4).

Round Robin, each team playing two games (1vs6, 1vs7, 2vs6, 2vs7, 3vs4, 3vs5, 4vs5)

All Round Robin Games :
RR games will need to be decided and ties must be broken. Periods will be (1st) 21 min, (2nd) 18 min and (3rd) 18 min. If game is tied, there will be a 3 player shootout, if still tied after 3 players have shot, then the captain may choose any player, as often as he wishes until the tie is broken.

All Finals , except if otherwise noted within your Divisions playoff details, will be a one (1) game final. The final will be a full length game. If the game is tied after regulation, , there will be a 3 player shootout, if still tied after 3 players have shot, then the captain may choose any player, as often as he wishes until the tie is broken. The 1 game will be three periods, 21 min, 18 min and 18min with the last 30 sec stopped time in the 1st and 2nd period. The 3rd period will be stop time the last 2 minutes. If tied after regulation, there will be a shootout per our RR shout criteria.
Tie Break Formats for Round Robin Standings
If 2 or more teams are tied after each team has played it’s Round Robin Games, the following criteria will be used to determine which teams advance.
If team B had 11 goals for and 8 against, they are +3 and team A would advance.
