Jacob Belisle scored three times and added an assist as Monkey Sports beat Lightspeed 8-4 at Jacques Lemaire Arena. William Molson added two goals, including the game-winner in the third period, and Monkey Sports never trailed.

The start gave Monkey Sports the cushion it needed. Belisle opened the scoring with Josh Felton adding another before the first intermission, then Dante Parent and Belisle stretched the lead to 4-0 in the second. Lightspeed answered through Bradley Read and Laurent Trudel to get within two, but the deficit never got smaller than that.

Molson made it 5-2 with 12:53 left in the third, the game-winning goal, and Matthew Janiszewski, Belisle and Molson kept extending the margin after that. Chris D'Aviro had a goal and two assists for Lightspeed, which also got a goal from Youssef Chabli.

Camden Gregory earned the win for Monkey Sports and Matthew Legler took the loss for Lightspeed. The teams split the first meeting of the season, and Monkey Sports sit first in DIVISION 2 with 9 points, one ahead of Lightspeed.
