Lara Escudero scored the go-ahead goal with 11:54 left in the third period and Dirty Shirley's outlasted the Comets 3-2 at Pierrefonds Sportplexe Rink 3.

The game started with quick answers. Laura Woo opened the scoring for the Comets, Dorothy Paul tied it for Dirty Shirley's, and Paul struck again in the second period to put Dirty Shirley's ahead 2-1.

Natasha Sabelli pulled Comets even with 14:43 left in the third, assisted by Brianna Ware and Nicole Handfield, but the tie lasted only until Escudero finished a feed from Paul for the game-winner. Paul finished with two goals and an assist, while Escudero had a goal and an assist.

Emma Leslie made 23 saves for the win, and Nikki Goldman stopped 16 shots in the loss. Dirty Shirley's are 1-1, while the Comets dropped their opener.
